How a project moves
We treat the design as the part most landscapers skip. Spend a week getting it right and the install is the easy part.
We meet on site, walk the property with you, and listen. Sun exposure, drainage, what your HOA allows, how you actually use the yard. No tablets — just boots, tape measure, and a notebook.
Back at the truck we draw the plan on graph paper. You see the layout in 48 hours: hardscape footprint, plant placement, irrigation zones, lighting. You mark it up, we revise.
Plant by plant — agave, palo verde, ocotillo, citrus — we walk the nursery selection together so you see the actual specimens going in. Same for stone, pavers, gravel color.
Demo, grading, base, hardscape, irrigation, plants, lighting. Same crew the whole way through, on site by 6am, gone by 3pm. Most full-yard projects wrap in 5 to 10 days.
Designed for the desert
Native and adaptive species that thrive on Sonoran light, monsoon rain, and the kind of water bill San Tan Valley actually wants.
Carnegiea gigantea
Specimen plant — the silhouette every desert yard is built around. Slow grower; we source mature transplants from licensed Sonoran nurseries only.
Agave americana
Architectural rosette for low foreground. Dramatic shadow line at golden hour; pairs well with DG or rip-rap, never lawn.
Fouquieria splendens
Vertical line, near-zero water, scarlet flames in spring. Reads like a sculpture for the front of a planted bed.
Parkinsonia florida
The Arizona state tree — green-barked, photosynthesizes through the trunk. Yellow bloom in April. We use it for filtered shade over patios.
Dasylirion wheeleri
Tight blue-grey ball of leaves topped by a tall flower stalk in summer. Anchors a bed without needing supplemental water.
Opuntia engelmannii
Fast-fill structure with magenta fruit late summer. Spineless cultivars on request for kid- or pet-heavy yards.
Gallery
Front-yard redesigns, backyard hardscape, full-yard makeovers. Each one started with a walk-through and a graph-paper sketch.

In their words
Homeowners across San Tan Valley, Queen Creek, and Florence who let us redesign their front and back yards.
They installed almost 900 square feet of Arizona pavers, a drip system, drainage, and all new plants and trees in four days. The crew was on time every morning and the finished yard looks like the renderings they showed us.

We had three other companies quote our backyard. ZonaWorks was the only one who actually walked the property and asked what we wanted to do back there. The plan they drew up made sense and the price was fair.

Tore out the dead Bermuda, regraded for drainage, set travertine pavers and a fire pit, uplit the saguaros. Backyard went from “let’s never go out there” to where we eat dinner half the week.
